Before you come to La Clinica Waxing

La Clinica Policies

Hair Long enough?

Your hair must be at least 1/4" long - at least 4 weeks since your last wax or 3 weeks since you last shaved. Coming in too soon may leave you with some persistent stubble and roots may still remain.

Exfoliate

Taking a warm shower and gently exfoliating the skin prior to treatment will provide an easier exit of the hair follicles and ensure a smoother wax. However don’t worry if this is not possible for you, your waxing treatment can still proceed without complications.

Etiquette

Impeccable hygiene is a must or service may be refused. Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated; this is a professional waxing service. La Clinica reserves the right to refuse treatment where it is deemed to be a risk to the health of the client or the therapist.

La Clinica Policies

No sweat

Avoid heat related activities such as hot baths, steam rooms and tanning immediately before or after your waxing treatment.

Avoid skin-sensitive medications

Do not wax if you are on any skin sensitive medications such as Accutane or Retin-A. This may cause the skin to rupture due to the heat of the wax.

4 Steps to a perfect waxing experience

1

Cleansing

We use an organic pre-wax cleanser to remove traces of creams, gels or oils from your delicate skin to ensure the wax adheres properly.

2

Waxing

Using only premium quality wax, and our South American waxing techniques, we gently remove the hair by the root for a virtually painless experience. Guaranteeing a reduction of hair growth - even after your first treatment at La Clinica

3

Protecting

Next, we apply pre-wax organic oil to ensure the wax adheres to the hairs and not your skin. This also helps create a natural protective barrier between the wax and your delicate skin.

4

Moisturising

Last, we pamper your delicate skin with either post-wax organic oil or gel depending on the body part.

FAQs

Why wax?

Waxing, unlike shaving, removes hair directly from the root, leaving the skin nice and smooth for weeks. If done professionally, regular and consistent waxing (every 4-6 weeks), will result in regrowth that is softer and often more sparse. Waxing, is also a natural hair removal treatment.

Do you double dip?

Never. We take cleanliness seriously. We use disposable applicators, bed liners and gloves for each and every service, and implements such as tweezers are sterilized.

My first waxing treatment, what should I expect?

Not a problem! Just inform us that its your first wax and we’ll walk you through the entire process step by step. Remember, since its your first waxing treatment and the hair follicles are rooted and at their  strongest, it can often take 2-3 waxing cycles for super smooth results.

Our Signature Female Bikini, Brazilian, Hollywood treatments - what's the difference?

Bikini treatment: All hair from bikini line, crease of legs is removed.
Brazilian treatment: A triangle or strip of hair is left at the front. All other hair from the bikini area is removed.
Hollywood treatment: all hair from the bikini area is removed.

How long does the hair need to be?

For best results, the hair should be approximately 1/4" long. It should be a minimum of 3 weeks since you last shaved or 4 weeks since your last wax.

Our Signature Male Speedo, Super Speedo, Mankini (Brozilian) treatments – what’s the difference?

Speedo treatment: All hair from the speedo line, crease of legs is removed.
Super Speedo treatment: A triangle or strip of hair is left at the front. All other hair from the speedo area is removed.
Mankini (Brozilian) treatment: all hair from the bikini area is removed.

How often should I get waxed?

The recommended time between waxing treatments is 4-6 weeks.

Strip Wax or Hardwax – what’s the difference?

Strip removes hair quickly and effectively using a cotton hair-removal strip. We use this method for legs, arms and back treatments. Hardwax hardens and shrink-wraps around the hair follicles and is peeled off without the aid of hair-removal strips, taking the hair with it. Hardwax is recommended for sensitive skin and can only be applied to smaller, delicate areas such as the face, underarm and bikini area. La Clinica only uses premium quality waxes for all treatments.

I am going on holiday, how soon before should I get waxed?

The recommended time to wax before your holiday or event is 2-3 days. This will allow any redness to pass. However, it is ideal to come in for at least 1 full waxing cycle before your holiday or event.

It's that time of the month - can I still get waxed?

As your hormones and sensitivities are kicking in, getting waxed right before or during this time may be more uncomfortable than usual. The best time for your bikini wax treatment is mid cycle, however be advised that you can still proceed with your waxing treatment if you wish by using a tampon.

Will I be put into any awkward positions?

Not at all, all of our waxing treatments simply require you to lie on either your front or back.
